Tropical Cyclone Hits New Caledonia

New Caledonia in the south Pacific Ocean got hit with Tropical Cyclone Cook.

The storm made landfall on Monday dropping 300 mm of rain and whipping up winds to 200 km/h.

The intense wind caused high waves as high at 10 metres, flooding many areas.

There have been at least four injuries reported and up to 20,000 are without power.

French media reports at least 4 injured and residences in the wake of Cook's passage. Local rainfall of up to 300 mm was also reported.

Conditions look to improve on Tuesday as the storm departs.

The storm could hit New Zealand next.
