Train Derailment in India kills 31

At least 31 people are dead and 100 are injured after a train derailment near Kudawa station, Harda district, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Two passenger trains, the Kamayani Express and the Janata Express, were derailed near Kudawa railway station on 4 August 2015.

The Commissioner for Railway Safety in the Central Railway zone has opened an inquiry into the accident.

The Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu made a statement to the Indian Parliament on 5 August, stating that a flash flood was the cause of the washout. He also stated that he would visit the site of the accident.
