Evacuations and rescues have taken place in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee as the Deep South is inundated with flooding, landslides, and heavy rain.

The severe weather was responsible for one death. A man died in a landslide Thursday in Hawkins County, Tennessee.

Conditions only worsened on Saturday with several tornadoes and heavy rain that only added to the dire situation.

There were also reports of strong wind and large hail.

A dam in Oxford, Mississippi is at risk of failure and authorities are urging residents to seek higher ground.
