Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists have confirmed that a tornado occurred near Otthon, SK at approximately 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. CST on July 3, 2018.

The tornado will be given a preliminary rating of EF-0. Environment and Climate Change Canada received preliminary video where a small debris cloud can be seen at the base of the funnel, however, there have been no reports of damage.

This was considered a landspout tornado that was generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs, or toss debris short distances.
