 Temperature over Australia
Temperatures of almost 50 degrees Celsius have been recorded in parts of Australia.

Watering holes are drying up and as a result, hundreds of wild horses and 2,500 Australian feral camels have died. The latter culled.

Some died of thirst, while others had to be euthanized.

As many as 28 locations hit record all-time highs.

On Tuesday, temperatures will be much lower with highs raining from 18 to 20 along the coast.

For portions of the Northern Territory, highs near 26 are possible.
