This is The Most Powerful Storm on Earth

Posted by on Wednesday, November 29, 2017

The most powerful storm currently on Earth is not a major typhoon but rather a powerful low spinning in the Bering Sea.

At its highest point, there was a wave height of 15.9 metres observed at a buoy near the Aleutians.

There was also wind gusts to over 145 km/h.

The central pressure dropped an incredible 55 millibars in 24 hours. That goes far beyond the criteria for bombogenesis. Bombogenesis occurs when atmospheric pressure drops 24 millibars in 24 hours.

The storm was weakening as of Monday afternoon.
