The Next Avalon Snow-Maker

Two areas of low pressure will pass well south and east of Newfoundland over the next couple of days.

The Avalon will see snow from both events.

The first low is passing by the Avalon today with nothing more than a few flurries expected.

On Wednesday the second low is expected to bring more snow.

Based on current data, the heaviest snow will fall over the southeast Avalon, even so, only 10 to 15 cm is likely, however, just offshore 20 to 40 cm is expected.

Snowfall amounts can be altered significantly if the low tracks west or east. A track further west would mean more snow for the Avalon, while a track east would mean less snow.
