The Kiglapait Mountains

Posted by on Tuesday, November 22, 2016

The Kiglapait Mountains are to the east of Nain, in northern Labrador, south of the Torngat and the Kaumajet Mountains.

Although the Kiglapait Mountains are not as high as those ranges, they still boast very rugged terrain and many peaks with high prominence values. The name means "dog-tooth."

The highest point is Man O'War Peak at 1050 meters.

In the area is the Cape Kiglapait Short Range Radar Site, a Royal Canadian Air Force Short Range Radar Site which was installed in August 1992 as part of the North Warning System.
