Tense Seven Minutes for NASA Spacecraft

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Sunday, November 25, 2018

There will be a tense seven minutes on November 26 as NASA's spacecraft will attempt to land on Mars.

In just seven minutes, the craft will decelerate from about 20,000 km/h to 8 km/h.

The point of the mission is to study the internal temperature of Mars and other vital information.

InSight, the name of the spacecraft, will endure a temperature of  about 1500°C.

This mission is the first time NASA has attempted to land a spacecraft on Mars in six years.

When InSight is close to landing, a parachute will deploy, and guide it safety to ground.
