In the Summer Months we typically talk about heat, but one area broke a temperature record on Tuesday. It wasn't Vancouver or Toronto or Halifax... it was Kugluktuk, Nunavut! Kugluktuk is located in the Arctic Circle.

Kugluktuk is a hamlet located at the mouth of the Coppermine River in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut on Coronation Gulf, southwest of Victoria Island.

The tiny town hit a new record of 29.2°C edging out the old record of 28.1 set back in 1994. Records started in 1931.

The normal high temperature for this time of year is 15°C. On Thursday the temperature is once again to get up to a high of 26°C.
