A 19-year-old boy was rescued after being stranded at sea for 49 days. He was located about 2500 kilometres from his fishing area.

He survived at sea by cooking the fish he caught and sucking water through his shirt.

He was finally rescued by a Panama ship.

On July 14 a strong storm lashed his tiny hut, breaking the rope that anchored it in place.

When rescued Adilang was weak. A crew managed to catch his hand and pull him onto the ship.

He was given a towel, food, clothing and a haircut.

The teen now plans to find a job on land.
