System Slamming BC Coast

A power system is moving on to the coast of British Columbia today.

Environment Canada has issued wind, snowfall, rainfall, and winter storm warnings for coastal and southeastern sections of British Columbia. 

Heavy snow beginning this morning for areas under the snowfall warning with amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. or the Columbias and Shuswap region, 15 to 30 cm of snow can be expected by Monday.

At lower elevations 60 to 90 millimetres of rain will fall by Monday before the front weakens and exits the area.

There will also be strong winds with gusts up to 90 km/h over exposed coastal sections of the Central Coast and North Vancouver Island today.

We will experience impacts from this system for the next few days.
