Super 8 Hotel Blaze in Winnipeg

Fire ripped through a Super 8 hotel in Winnipeg's east end on Friday afternoon.

By 3:40 p.m. numerous emergency crews rushed to the scene.

Reports indicated that there were only 25 guests staying at the hotel at the time of the blaze. There were no injuries and everyone was safely evacuated.

The fire was confined to the rear section of the building. It was under construction at the time. It is probably a total loss.

Super 8 Motels, is the world's largest budget hotel chain, with hotels in the United States, Canada and China. The company is a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide, formerly a part of Cendant.
