Sunwing Grounds Boeing 737 Max 8 Fleet

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Wednesday, March 13, 2019

After a Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed in Ethiopia killing all 157 people on board, Sunwing has temporarily grounded their fleet of the aircraft.

Some countries have also grounded all Boeing 737 Max 8. Canada has not.

Transport Minister Marc Garneau will provide an update on the aircrafts this morning.

Sunwing said it was grounding their fleet due to "evolving commercial reasons" unrelated to safety.

The same model of the airplane crashed in Indonesia in October killing 189 people.
