Strong Wind and Snow For Parts of Atlantic Canada

Strong wind and snow is expected across parts of Atlantic Canada.

Wind warnings are in effect for most of the West Coast of Newfoundland and the Bonavista Peninsula, in these areas winds will gust to 120 km/h. There is also a Wreckhouse wind warning in effect for Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity, winds will gust up to 100 km/h overnight tonight and up to 120 km/h Monday morning.

Snow will develop in central, western and northern Newfoundland tonight. 10 to 15 cm is expected, then the precipitation will change to ice pellets or freezing rain and then to rain. Snowfall accumulations along the west coast will likely be highest over higher elevations.

In Nova Scotia there is a Les Suêtes wind warning in effect for Inverness County - Mabou and north. Winds gusting to 100 km/h will develop tonight and continue until early Monday morning.

Snow followed by freezing rain is expected tonight over parts of central and northern New Brunswick.
