Strong Earthquake Strikes Alaska

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck 129.5 km west-southwest of Adak, Alaska.

It occurred on January 5 at 8:47 am.

It was at a depth of 19 km.

No tsunami warning was issued.

The earthquake was not felt by anyone.

The earthquake struck in the same area as a magnitude 6.5 earthquake August 15 and a 6.3 magnitude earthquake August 23.
