Strong Earthquake Sparks Tsunami Fear

Another strong earthquake has struck the Solomon Islands. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km.
Tsunami waves reaching 1 to 3 meters above the tide level are possible along some coasts of the Solomon Islands.
Tsunami waves are forecast to be less than 0.3 meters above the tide level for the coasts of Australia, Fiji,  Kiribati,  Nauru, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
There is no tsunami danger for Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California.
