Strong Earthquake off South Africa

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck on Sunday southwest of Africa.

It was fairly shallow with a depth of just 10 km.

It was centered 2204.9 km south-southwest of Hermanus, South Africa.

There was no threat to the east coast of America or Canada.

Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued an alert assuring those living in the Caribbean a tsunami was not expected.
