Pathway Surround Forest Covered in Snow

An area of low pressure will skim Newfoundland and Labrador tonight and into Thursday.

For most of Newfoundland, there will be a brief period of snow before a transition over to freezing rain or rain.

On the Avalon and Central Newfoundland, freezing rain is expected. In Western Newfoundland tonight, rain is likely with about 5 to 10 millimeters expected. Up the Northern Peninsula precipitation will be in the form of snow or freezing rain.

In Labrador, heavy snow is expected, especially for southeastern sections, with 15 to 20 centimeters. This will also cause whiteout conditions and blowing snow.
