Stormy conditions continue across Newfoundland

Posted by on Saturday, February 6, 2016

Residents of Corner Brook were filling buckets with sand on Friday. The City of Corner Brook offered free sand to the public.

Residents along the west coast of Newfoundland are waking up to a lot of snow this morning.

Snow began on Friday afternoon and has been steadily falling ever since.

The center of the low tracked across western Newfoundland, areas west of the storms track picked up snow, areas east of that saw mostly rain. Snow is still falling along the west coast and rain elsewhere. precipitation will taper off near noon. Winds will also be an issue and a flash freeze is likely for eastern portions of Newfoundland as well on this morning.
