Officials confirm that at least 80 people are dead in northern India after a series of powerful storms struck the area.

On Sunday and Monday severe storms caused buildings to collapse and caused trees to fall killing several people.

Wind gusts up to 109 km/h were recorded.

Trains and commuter rail lines were shut down, several flights were diverted.

More storms are expected in the region this week.

Just under two weeks ago 134 people were killed and another 400 suffered injures in another severe round of weather.
