Storm Update for Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Canada will be impacted by another system beginning today.

Snow will begin across the Maritime provinces today.

Across New Brunswick snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected. Over southern areas of the province, snow will mix with ice pellets and then change over to freezing rain or rain.

Snow is expected to begin over Prince Edward Island Wednesday afternoon. Precipitation will change to rain Wednesday into Thursday. Snow amounts of 10 cm is expected.

Snow will begin over western Nova Scotia Wednesday afternoon and spread eastward Wednesday night then change over to a period of freezing rain then to rain. Precipitation will end Thursday morning. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected. Rainfall amounts exceeding 25 mm are possible especially along the Atlantic coast.

Snow is expected to begin Wednesday evening or after midnight across Newfoundland and change to rain on Thursday morning. Some areas could see 50 mm of rain. There is a potential for the west coast of Newfoundland to see 10 and 20 cm of snow.
