Storm Triggering Rough Surf

Posted by on Sunday, June 19, 2016

A storm tracking up the Eastern Seaboard will cause hazardous beach conditions on Monday.

Officials in places such as Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Duck, North Carolina, warned people to not go in the water on Saturday.

Rip currents are a big concern. Rip currents are a relatively strong, narrow current flowing outward from the beach through the surf zone and presenting a hazard to swimmers.

Seas near the coast will be near 3 to 7 feet on Monday.
