Storm to Hammer Atlantic Canada

Posted by on Sunday, December 13, 2015

A low pressure system will approach the Maritime provinces from the west beginning Monday Afternoon.

New Brunswick will begin by seeing snow for northern Sections and ice pellets or freezing rain for central and southern portions of the Province.

On Prince Edward Island precipitation will begin as snow, change to ice pellets by Tuesday afternoon and then rain or a rain snow mix on Tuesday Night.

For Nova Scotia it will be all rain for southern Sections, ice pellets for central sections and snow for northern portions of the Province. All areas will transition to rain Tuesday night.

From there the low will make its way to Newfoundland. The southwest coast will begin to see snow Tuesday night. This looks like it will be mostly a snow event, although not significant amounts. Areas along the south coast will probably see a rain snow mix.
