Storm Rages on in Ontario and Quebec

The major winter storm that has been impacting Ontario and Quebec continues today.

In Southern and Eastern Ontario there will be wind gusts near 100 km/h near Eastern Lake Erie and Eastern Lake Ontario. These strong winds will most likely cause power outages.

Across Central and Eastern Ontario an extended period of freezing rain is possible.

Tonight the snow will begin to depart Northeastern and Central Ontario. Strong winds affecting Southern Ontario will also subside this evening hours.

In Quebec there are wind, rainfall, winter storm, snowfall, and freezing rain warning in effect.

Freezing rain is already occurring in some areas. Winds gusting up to 90 km/h are expected this evening in some areas. 15 to 25 millimetres of rain is expected by this evening for areas under a rainfall warning. Heavy snow is expected fro some with 25 to 35 centimetres expected by Thursday morning.
