Storm Leaves Over 1 Million Without Power

The storm responsible for bringing strong wind and heavy rain to Atlantic Canada caused a lot of damage south of the border.

There have been 214 reports of wind damage in the 24-hour period.

At the peak on Monday afternoon there were over 1 million customers were without power in the Northeast.

Some rivers burst their banks causing flooding.

The storm was particularly severe due to moisture obtained from ex-tropical storm Philippe.

150 km/h at Mashpee, Massachusetts
126 km/h at Wells, Vermont
122 km/h at Fairhaven, Massachusetts
121 km/h at Barnstable, Massachusetts
117 km/h near Mystic, Connecticut
