Storm Closed Schools & Knocks Out Power in Southern U.S.

The major winter storm that is impacting Atlantic Canada today has caused havoc stateside.

Schools remain closed as the Southern United States, an area that rarely sees snow, digs out from the powerful low.

Schools in Georgia and North Carolina were closed.

There were also major power outages to deal with. Nearly 100,000 homes and businesses were left power in northern Florida and southern Georgia.

Traffic was at a standstill on a Georgia Highway. People got stuck in the snow.
