The same storm is bringing major coastal flooding, beach erosion, and strong to damaging winds across much of the Middle Atlantic and New England into early Saturday.

Off the east coast of the United States there is a hurricane force wind warning in effect. Winds up to 120 km/h and wave heights up to 12 meters are possible tonight and Saturday.
