An area of low pressure will make its way to Newfoundland this weekend.

The low will help pump in some warmer air from the south. On Saturday we could see temperatures ranging from 5 to 10 degrees across Newfoundland.

That's not to say that there won't be any snow, we expect snow to start on the West Coast and Great Northern Peninsula on Friday. However, snow will change quickly to ice pellets or freezing rain and then to rain.

Rain will be the dominant form of precipitation.

It is important to know that this could give a risk of localized flooding over frozen ground and in areas where significant snow cover still exists.

Looking ahead to the long range, next week daytime highs could get up over 10 degrees.
