The Space Needle in Seattle shared a video on Monday showing the tower being hit by lightning.

The tower is built to withstand a wind velocity of 320 km/h.

Only a few lightning strikes a year actually touch the building. There are 25 lightning rods on the roof.

The Space Needle is an observation tower in Seattle, Washington, a landmark of the Pacific Northwest, and an icon of Seattle.

It stands at 184 metres.
