South Pacific slammed by Tropical Cyclone Ula

Islands in the South Pacific have been slammed by Tropical Cyclone Ula.

The storm moved over Tonga first on New Year’s Day dropping over 100 mm of rain and wind gusts of 150 km/h. 

There were reports of roofs being ripped off houses, both power and telephone lines toppled by the strong winds.

The storm later slammed Fiji.
