Soaker for Newfoundland

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Saturday, April 28, 2018

A large area of disturbed weather will push across Newfoundland on Sunday.

Some areas will see some heavy rainfall.

Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings for Burgeo - Ramea and Connaigre. In these areas rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm is expected by Monday morning.

Meanwhile there are also special weather statements in effect for Bay St. George, Buchans and the interior, Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity, Corner Brook and vicinity, and Deer Lake - Humber Valley. 20 to 30 mm of rain is possible in this area. This will lead to significant snowmelt and runoff and the potential for some flooding.

For our friends in Labrador, there is a snowfall warning in effect for Hopedale and vicinity. Snowfall amounts of 20 to 25 cm is expected. Snow will begin this morning and end overnight.
