Snowstorm Eyeing Newfoundland, Who Will Get What?

An area of low pressure will push across Newfoundland tonight bringing snow to the Island.

There are special weather statements in effect for the west coast, central Newfoundland, and the Avalon Peninsula. On the south coast there are snowfall warnings in effect.

Snow will commence late this afternoon over western Newfoundland and then spread eastward across the Island to reach the Avalon by midnight.

The snow will taper off from west to east on Tuesday morning before another shot of snow on Tuesday night.

Snowfall Forecast (tonight and Tuesday)
  • St. John's: 15 to 20 cm
  • Marystown: 25 to 45 cm
  • Gander: 15 to 20 cm
  • GF-W: 10 to 15 cm
  • Corner Brook: 8 to 12 cm
  •  Port aux Basques: 15 to 20 cm
  • St. Anthony: 2 to 4 cm
