Snowstorm Cripples Newfoundland

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Tuesday, February 27, 2018

It is a snow day for most people across the eastern half of the Island today.

Schools are closed across the Island including most CNA locations and MUN.

There are also several government and businesses closed.

Snow started along the west coast of the Island last night and moved eastward overnight dropping significant snow in most areas.

As of 7:00 am most of central and the west coast, including Corner Brook received 15 cm of snow. On the Avalon there is only about 7 cm so far. Before this event ends there could end up being closer to 20 cm.

Snow is coming to an end on the west coast, but eastern Newfoundland and the Avalon are continuing to receive snow.
