Snow squalls & Strong wind Batter portions of Newfoundland

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Snow squalls and strong wind continue to batter portions of Newfoundland.

Onshore flurries and snow squalls combined with very strong westerly winds will continue to give near zero visibilities in blowing snow today and tonight.

Motorists are advised to stay off most roads on the west coast.

RNC are asking people to exercise caution when driving in the Corner Brook Region today.

There is widespread reduced visibility and slippery road conditions.

As of 12:17 pm there are power outages in Daniel's Harbour, Black Duck Cove, Forrestor's Point, St Barbe, and Seldom Come By.

Grenfell Campus, including sports camps, is cancelled for this afternoon and the campus is closed. A further update will be issued by 4 p.m.
