Snow squalls along Lake Huron and Georgian Bay

Posted by on Sunday, January 10, 2016

Along the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay snow squalls are expected to establish themselves Sunday night and through the day on Monday.

10 to 15 cm of snow is certainly an achievable number.

This snow squall event is caused by an arctic cold front will sweep through southern Ontario on Sunday night. Cold air and strong northwesterly winds over the open waters.

Under these snow squall visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
