Snow, Rain, and Wind Continues to Blast Newfoundland

Posted by on Sunday, May 21, 2017

Newfoundland and Labrador will continue to have a miserable long weekend.

Although the Victoria Day Long Weekend is supposed to be the unofficial kickoff to the summer camping season, it looks more like a winter wonderland in parts of the province.

In Labrador today snow will continue for extreme southern sections.

Rain showers mixed with flurries will continue to cause travel problems on the west coast.

In central Newfoundland we will see a rain snow mix also.

The Avalon will only see a few showers.

All areas of Newfoundland will see a transition to rain in the afternoon.

On Saturday there was a lot of snow on the Northern Peninsula, in fact snow equipment was operating on Route 430.

The good news is that the snow won't stick around too long as the ground is warmer and temperatures will rebound this week.
