The Northern Peninsula in Newfoundland got hit with a shot of snow on Wednesday evening.

Precipitation initially began as rain but changed to snow in the evening and persisted throughout the night. Scattered flurries are expected to continue through Thursday afternoon.

Generally snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimeters were forecast for the area.

Last evening road conditions were very poor with reduced visibility with some blowing snow.

For the remainder of Newfoundland, flurries is expected to continue for many areas today with all areas including the Avalon getting into the flurry activity.

Precipitation amounts are not expected to be very high for Newfoundland today.
