Snow, Ice Pellets, Freezing Rain, and Rain Across NL

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Wednesday, February 21, 2018

A messy mix of weather is on the way to Newfoundland.

Snow will begin over Western Newfoundland on Wednesday afternoon and gradually spread across the island as the afternoon progresses.

Along the South Coast, precipitation will change over to ice pellets by noon on Wednesday.

Ice pellets or freezing rain is possible across the majority of Newfoundland with the exception of the Great Northern Peninsula where precipitation is likely to remain as snow.

Ice pellets or freezing rain will eventually change over to rain for most of the island.

Conditions will begin to clear on Wednesday night.
