Snow from Ontario to Newfoundland

Posted by on Friday, February 19, 2016

A low over Minnesota will advance toward Ontario and Quebec bringing mixed precipitation over the course of the weekend.

Currently 15-20 cm of snow is expected from the lower Ottawa Valley and from the northern suburbs of Montreal and Quebec City northward. Freezing rain does not look likely except locally and very briefly around the lower St. Lawrence.
There are also indications of wind gusts up to 90 km/h with this system from Lake Ontario through Southern Quebec.

From there the low will move toward the Maritimes and Newfoundland by Sunday morning. There is the possibility of some areas picking up 5 to 10 cm of snow Sunday and Sunday night particularly the West Coast of Newfoundland.
