Snow and Wind for Newfoundland Today

Some snow is on the way to Newfoundland today.

Avalon: Snow begins mid-evening. For St. John's and the Southern Avalon only 2 to 4 cm is expected today with another 5 cm tonight. Elsewhere 5 to 10 cm is possible.

Central: The snow will start mid-morning. Amounts of 5 to 10 cm are likely except 10-15 cm just west of Badger.

West: Snow has already moved on to portions of the west coast and will continue to spread eastward. Generally 5 to 10 cm of snow, except 2  to 4 cm along the west coast of the Northern Peninsula.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Burgeo - Ramea and Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity. Gusts to 100 km/h are possible this evening and overnight.

We will see an improvement in the weather overnight.
