Snow and Rain Makes for a Soggy Weekend

Posted by on Saturday, May 20, 2017

An area of low pressure will be centered just off the coast of Labrador today.

Over Labrador snow will continue for most of the day. 10 to 25 cm are possible from northern sections of Newfoundland through southeast Labrador.

Across central and western Newfoundland, rain will change to a mixture of snow and rain. Heavy snow is possible over higher elevations.

In regions where precipitation remains as rain, 50 to 70 mm is expected by Sunday.

Aside from some strong wind Sunday night into Monday, the Avalon will not get hit too hard.

Very strong northwest winds are likely over western parts of Newfoundland and Cape Breton.
