Smoke from the wildfires in British Columbia is expected to make an appearance in central Alberta today.

The most pronounced concentrations of smoke are likely from Hinton to Grande Prairie to Lloydminster through to Red Deer.

These areas will have poor air quality health values, possibly reaching 10. The AQHI index reflects the impacts that wildfire smoke may have on human health.

We are also watching south and western parts of Alberta.

Smoke from a fire in Kootenay National Park and nearby areas will maintain poor air quality near the border.
