The smoke from the British Columbia wildfires has been making for some very poor air quality across Alberta and parts of Saskatchewan.

Conditions improved somewhat overnight for northern Alberta. Cooler air came in overnight and helped to clear some of the smoke.

The smoke will linger until Friday afternoon in southern parts of the province.

An approaching cold front should push the smoke out of Saskatchewan on Friday morning.

There has been some improvement along coastal British Columbia. A change in the wind resulted in an onshore flow of fresh Pacific air along the Coast.

Inland areas of British Columbia, where fires are still burning, still has poor air quality.
