Six people were injured on Friday after a Fly Jamaica plane crash landed at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana.

The flight left from Cheddi Jagan International Airport with 120 passengers, 82 of whom are Canadian.

It was heading for Toronto.

All injuries were non life-threatening.

Shortly after takeoff the pilot indicated problems with its hydraulic system.

When it crash landed it left the runway.

Hydraulic systems are used on aircraft to move and actuate landing gear, flaps and brakes. Larger aircraft use these systems also on flight controls, spoilers, thrust reversers and what not.
