It may still be October, but some significant snowfall is on the way to Northeastern Ontario.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible for the Fort Hope and Geraldton area on Tuesday.

Temperatures will be slightly warm today but will take a sharp drop on Tuesday.

The warning threshold criteria for snowfall warning are when 15 cm or more of snow falls within 12 hours or less.

For areas south, rain will persist into Tuesday.
