An extreme El Niño has caused what may be irreparable damage to the beaches in  Southern California.

The El Niño event of 2015 and 2016 caused some of the largest waves ever recorded. These waves washed large amounts of sand into the ocean.

The damge didn't stop there, garbage has been washed from streets into the ocean from flooding rain this year.

A recent study says that 29 beaches along the West Coast published have suffered erosion caused by the El Niño outbreak.
