The Finnish icebreaker MSV Nordica has broken a record for the earliest crossing of Northwest Passage.

MSV Nordica is a Finnish multipurpose icebreaker and platform supply vessel. Built in 1994 by Finnyards in Rauma, Finland and operated by Arctia Offshore.

The ship spent 24 days at sea and covered more than 10,000 kilometres.

The Northwest Passage is a sea route connecting the northern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through the Arctic Ocean, along the northern coast of North America via waterways through the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
