Second Perfect Rectangular Iceberg Spotted in Antarctica

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Monday, October 29, 2018

There have been some strange icebergs in Antarctica lately.

NASA released a photo last week of a seemingly perfect rectangular iceberg. Then a secondary photo of a similar rectangular iceberg.

Operation IceBridge took the photos on October 16 over the northern Antarctic Peninsula.

The iceberg's sharp angles and flat surface indicate that it probably recently calved from the ice shelf.
