Two people are dead following the flooding of the River Seine in France. The River Seine was due to hit a peak of up to 6.5 meters on Friday.

Artworks were safely packed away for at the Louvre and Orsay museums due to the rising water.
Thousands have been forced to flee their homes.

Several towns in southern Germany have been devastated. Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands and Poland have also been affected.

The Seine River is a 777-kilometre long river and an important commercial waterway within the Paris Basin in the north of France.
